About SpacerrApps

SpacerrApps exists to get small software seen. Anyone can list an app here for free, we write the news about it, and both stay up. No card, no queue, no invitation.

What we're trying to do

Most independent software dies unread. Not because it is bad. Because nobody writes about it. The places that would are either chasing whatever launched at a big company this week, or they are directories: a name, a logo, a one-line pitch, and a link, repeated a thousand times until none of it means anything.

The ones that do give you a proper listing usually want paying before anything happens at all, and often several hundred for it. That price is not the cost of the work. It is the cost of being one of the few places that does this, and it quietly decides that software from people without a marketing budget does not get seen. Most of the world builds without one.

So the goal is simple and it is a volume goal: list as many apps as we can, from anywhere, in one standard shape, and charge nothing to be here. Every app gets the same page, the same treatment, and the same real write-up: what it is for, who it is not for, and what it deliberately refuses to do. An article, not an entry.

How an app ends up here

You submit it yourself. There is no pitching, no media list, and no relationship to maintain. The form asks what your app is, who it is for, and what makes it different, and that description is what everything gets written from.

  • You fill in the form once.
  • A person reviews the submission. Spam, adult content and anything we can't write about honestly is turned down.
  • Once approved, your app gets its own page in the directory.
  • We draft the write-up, and an editor reads it before it publishes.

What it costs

Nothing, to be here. Free is the point of the place rather than a trial that runs out: a free submission gets 2 links, your app's own page in the directory and one write-up about it, and both stay up for good. We would rather host ten thousand apps for free than a hundred for a fee.

Every approved app is written about once, on the same terms, on every tier. A subscription is a different thing: Founder is $9.99 a month for up to 4 apps and a sponsor placement on the home page. The placement stays up after you cancel.

The rules we hold ourselves to

This only works if the writing is worth reading, which means being straight about the parts that are uncomfortable.

  • Sponsor placements are the panels on the home page and the entries on the sponsors page, and they pass no ranking credit. A listing page and a write-up come with every approved app on every tier, so their links are ordinary followed editorial links. What stands behind them is not a subscription. It is that a person read the submission first.
  • Coverage is not for sale, which is why that write-up reads the same on every tier. Sponsoring gets you a placement and nothing besides. Not the article, not a word of what it says about you, and not a higher position on any page.
  • You can correct a fact at any time. You cannot rewrite an opinion.
  • Nothing publishes automatically. Drafts are written by a model and read by a person, and the person is the one who presses publish.
  • Posts stay up after you stop paying. Removing them would make the archive a rental.

What we won't tell you

That this will fix your search rankings, or that it will send you a specific amount of traffic. Neither would be true. What a write-up gives you is a real page about your app, written in a way someone might actually finish, on a site that is trying to be worth reading, plus readers who arrive already knowing what your app does.

If that isn't what you're after, SpacerrApps is the wrong place, and we would rather say so now than take the money.
