What YourLio AI Actually Does for Shopify Stores

It combines storefront chat, customer support and cross-channel follow-up around one buyer profile.

A shopper lands on a product page with a simple question, leaves without buying, then returns later through Instagram or WhatsApp. The store may have separate tools for each interaction, with no shared context between them. The customer starts again, and the merchant has little sense of where the sale was lost.

That is the problem YourLio AI is designed to address. It is a Shopify-focused AI sales and support agent that presents one conversation across a store and several messaging channels. The company describes it as an AI concierge rather than a conventional scripted chatbot. Its job is to answer questions, recommend products, follow up with shoppers and help complete orders.

It sits between the catalogue and the customer

YourLio AI is built around a Shopify store's product catalogue. The landing page says merchants add a script to the store, allowing the agent to listen to existing events and operate alongside the current setup. The intended result is a storefront assistant that can understand a shopper's request, identify a suitable product and send a checkout link before the visitor leaves.

That gives the product a more specific role than a general-purpose chat window. It is meant to sell from the information in the shop, not simply answer broad questions. A customer asking about a product can receive a recommendation, while somebody asking for help can get support that may lead to a purchase.

The company also says the agent can be trained on a store's catalogue, tone and guardrails. In practical terms, that suggests the merchant needs to provide accurate product information and make decisions about what the system is allowed to say. The quality of its answers will depend partly on those inputs. “AI sales rep” does not remove the need to maintain the underlying shop data.

One buyer profile across several channels

The central idea is shared context. YourLio presents the same buyer history across the storefront, WhatsApp, Instagram, email, SMS, Messenger and app push notifications. The claim is that each interaction contributes to one buyer profile instead of remaining trapped in a channel-specific tool.

That could help with a common ecommerce failure: a customer asks a question on one surface, clicks away, and later encounters a follow-up that does not reflect what they already discussed. YourLio is intended to make those handoffs more coherent. It can also address abandoned carts and send follow-up messages through the channels connected to the store.

This is where the product's “agentic” language matters. The proposed workflow is not just a customer waiting for a reply. The agent may notice hesitation on a product page, suggest a relevant SKU, answer an objection and move the shopper towards checkout. These are the developer's stated capabilities, not results that can be assumed for every catalogue or audience.

The page includes examples and testimonials from direct-to-consumer brands, particularly in beauty, personal care, healthcare, food and related categories. Those businesses often have products that require explanation or comparison, which is a clearer fit for guided selling than a catalogue where every item is self-explanatory.

Where the setup makes sense

YourLio AI is aimed at Shopify merchants that want sales and support handled in the same system. A store with repeated product questions, a high volume of messaging conversations or frequent abandoned carts has a concrete reason to investigate it. The ability to run it beside an existing stack also gives a merchant a way to assess its replies and recovery work before changing every workflow.

The product supports web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. Those are the platforms on which the product runs, but the commerce use case remains tied to Shopify. It is not presented as a general sales agent for any online shop. A merchant on another commerce platform would need to treat that as a fundamental fit question, not a small configuration detail.

There is a free plan, with a paid upgrade. The landing page also presents a demo and an audit of potential cart losses, so a cautious buyer should clarify exactly which channels, integrations and controls are included in the plan they would use. The page mentions connections with payment, shipping, messaging and marketing services, but the useful question is whether the particular services in a store's existing workflow are supported.

What it does not replace

The biggest limitation is scope. YourLio is not a replacement for a Shopify store, a well-maintained catalogue or clear customer service policies. It also does not make every channel the same operational environment. Messaging permissions, customer expectations and the quality of available data still vary by channel.

There is a further risk in combining support and selling. A system optimised to close a purchase may be a poor fit for sensitive support cases, complaints or products that require expert advice. The merchant needs guardrails and an escalation path, especially in health-related categories. The landing page says guardrails are part of the model setup, but it does not establish how complex cases are handled.

For Shopify brands with a sizeable stream of product questions and follow-up conversations, YourLio AI is best understood as a cross-channel sales and support layer around the existing store. It is for merchants willing to supervise the catalogue, messaging rules and handoffs. It is not for a business that needs a platform-independent commerce agent, has little customer conversation to automate, or expects AI to replace judgement in sensitive support work.
