About Aaven - News & Audio
Aaven turns the news you actually want to read into something you can listen to. On-device, private, no accounts required.
The news you actually want to read, turned into something you can listen to — on a walk, during a commute, or while making dinner.
Top Stories, Technology, Business, World, Science, Health, Sports, and more — choose the categories and sources that matter to you.
Aaven pulls fresh headlines from real publishers, summarizes them, and reads them aloud in a natural voice.
Wikipedia's "On This Day," Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day, and A.Word.A.Day — woven right into your briefing.
No sign-up, no login, no registration. Open the app, pick a source, and listen — that's the whole setup.
Built to stay out of your way. Aaven only fetches what you explicitly turn on — nothing happens automatically in the background. No ad SDKs, no analytics trackers, no custom backend collecting your data. Just headlines, read aloud.
What Aaven - News & Audio does that nothing else does
A built-in sleep timer plus a free tier that needs no account at all — most news readers require sign-up before you hear a word.
Who Aaven - News & Audio is for
People who want a spoken news briefing instead of scrolling — commuters, walkers, and anyone cooking dinner who'd rather listen than read.

Aaven does not auto refresh

Are news summaries and voice playback generated entirely on the iPhone, and what extra features does the paid version unlock?
Eugene GoldMaker
Yes. You can select from many natural voices which are usually much better than Apple’s own voices. You can also add your own news feed to pull and summarize into audio briefings.
Eugene GoldMaker
Yes. You don’t need internet for that at all. It mainly unlocks a large number of categories and sources covering a wide range of topics.
Eugene GoldMaker
Yes all processing takes place on the phone. With paid version you have much more categories and briefings

Can I download a briefing for offline listening, and does playback continue when my iPhone is locked?
Eugene GoldMaker
Yes that’s one of the purposes of this App. I recently used it on a 4 hour flight. Yes I played it at night with phone locked to fall asleep with.
Eugene GoldMaker
Yes. You don’t need internet. Your iPhone can be dark while playing.
