About RME: PDF & Document Scanner

- RME: PDF & Document Scanner is a privacy-first, open-source Android scanner for turning paper documents into clean PDFs and images without relying on a proprietary cloud service. It supports multi-page scanning, gallery import, document filters, offline OCR, selectable and copyable recognized text, searchable PDF creation, and PDF or JPEG export. OCR and document processing happen locally on the device, and files are saved or shared using Android's system tools. RME does not require an account and does not include ads, analytics, tracking, cloud OCR, or a proprietary document backend. The project is designed for people who want a capable everyday scanner without giving another service access to their documents. The source code is publicly available under the Apache License 2.0.
